Description
Moments after takeoff on a flight to Miami, I looked out the window and caught this stunning alignment — the rising sun reflecting directly off the newly completed One World Trade Center, casting a golden beam across New York Harbor. I snapped the shot instinctively, not realizing just how far it would go.
Within days, it made the front page of Reddit and was featured on PetaPixel and Gizmodo. Months later, Time Magazine included it in their special issue, America’s Tower, and eventually the architecture firm behind the building, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, licensed the image.
This photograph remains one of my proudest moments as a visual storyteller — a testament to being in the right place, at the right time, with a camera ready.
